A deconstructive take on tailored-streetwear

VETEMENTS, from vêtements, the French word for “clothing", was founded by Demna Gvasalia, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

After a seven-year run at Maison Martin Margiela and Louis Vuitton, Demna was playing around with the idea of creating an innovative collective of friends and colleagues that would focus on re-shaping clothes. The brand quickly gained global attention with their deviating take on fashion. With celebrity endorsements from the likes of Kanye West, Travis Scott, Rihanna and many more, VETEMENTS quickly gained a spot in limelights.

I don’t think elegance is relevant. Vetements is about the street, and on the street I don’t think elegance is what people are aiming for.

The brand studies and redefines the essence of fashion by creating impactful garments that are meant to be worn. The label avoids being trendy and focusses on giving the wearer the freedom of form. With a deconstructive take on tailored-streetwear, VETEMENTS underlines its dedication to proportion and trend-transcending designs.
