Celebrating the authenticity of artisanal craft
Marni is an Italian luxury fashion house, founded in 1994 by Consuelo Castiglioni. The Chilean-Swiss designer was born and raised in the Italian-Swiss town of Lugano. With limited training in fashion, Castiglioni founded the fashion label Marni and is known for its playful spirit with humanist values, combined with an experimental approach to materials and colors.
Combining an experimental approach to fabric and colour, and a unique flair for mixing prints and shapes, the aesthetic paradigm is the vision of Francesco Risso. Born on the Italian island of Sardinia, Risso spent the first years of his life on a boat with his parents before they moved to Genoa to live with family.
Risso worked for Anna Molinari at Blumarine, Alessandro Dell-Acqua, and Malo before joining Prada in 2008. In 2016, Risso was appointed as creative director of Marni. The quirky elegance of Marni explores a range of possibilities and ideals to evoke a lifestyle with an avant-garde spirit that is in constant dialogue with the world of art.
