Exceptional materials / inimitable detailing / respect for the foot
Origin: Izeaux, France
One of the last emblens of “Made in France” in the world of footwear
Founded in 1908, in a small village at the foot of the French Alps, Rémy Richard, an ambitious son of a farming family, began selling his designs to clients in Paris as a factory agent. After taking the leap to travel to the United States he had become aware of the rubber ‘boots’ that were being used in American sports. Equipped with this revolutionary material and newfound know-how, he had returned to the French village and soon started manufacturing waterproof boots with varying materials of latex.
In the late 1920s, Richard had decided to register the Paraboot- a combination of para: a port in Amazonia where he had retrieved the latex, and boot, the shoe that had jumpstarted his career. Today, Paraboot is most known for the Michael Lace-up, that features a round toe, a lace-up front fastening and low block heel. But besides the shoe, had Rémy Richard put emphasis on providing footwear that are fit for every single occasion- whether it be casual, or dressing up.
